The Wedding

Proposal Poloriods

Being very nervous

The idea of asking Katherine to marry me had been circling in my mind for months. I was pretty sure she'd say yes, but despite that I knew it would be a huge surprise.

I'd made a few trips to a local jewellers and compared at least a million different rings (a little exaggeration) until Katherine's ring stood out among the rest. I made sure it was made from something that would last forever and platinum seemed to do the trick, it also made the jewelers very happy! I ordered the ring and the day before we planned to have a night away in London, I picked it up.

For Kath's birthday I got some brilliant tickets to see her favourite musical ("West Side Story"). The show was fantastic, I could tell she really enjoyed it. I'd been carrying the ring in my pocket all day waiting for the perfect moment to ask, never really feeling brave enough it took until the very end of the night back at the hotel before I finally built up the courage. I popped the question clumsily and Kath, full of tears (good ones), waited a few minutes (I'm guessing for dramatic reasons) before saying yes! I'd never seen such a big smile or felt so happy, and I realised I shouldn't have ever been that nervous.

We've been together for over 7 years, she's my best friend and soon she'll be my wife. I couldn't imagine a more perfect person to spend the rest of my life with.
